Meet the Pediatric Dentists
Stephen Pretzer, DDS
As a pediatric dentist, I am in a unique position to develop long term relationships with families. Watching kids grow and being a part of their lives is an invaluable and gratifying experience. I feel very fortunate to truly love what I do each and every day. I am thrilled to help my young patients have a positive dental experience and achieve ideal dental health for a lifetime of happy smiles.

I have been married to my wife, Kathy, since 1999. She is a speech pathologist and is currently at home with our two boys, Ryan and James. I love spending time with my family. My two sons are avid sports fans and play soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and baseball. I love to go skiing, surfing, biking, and enjoy traveling with my family. I also enjoy rooting for Duke basketball and Michigan football.
David Kornstein, DDS
I have constantly been amazed at how rewarding pediatric dentistry has been to me. Each and every day, my little patients' playfulness, creativity, and imagination have given me so much to be thankful for and proud of. Treating children at such young ages allows me to help instill in them a great sense of the importance that our oral health has for our overall health, confidence, and self-esteem. My goal is to make sure that the children I treat leave our practice excited to return again.

I am a Charlotte native and have been here in Raleigh since 2007. At home, my wife, Emily, and I have a son named Finn, and two furry Golden Retrievers, Trucker and Lee. When I'm not in the office, you can often find me kitesurfing, paddle surfing, skiing and hiking. I am passionate about the effects that a whole foods plant-centered diet has on improving not just oral health, but overall health.
Robert Moran, Jr., DDS, MS
Helping children enjoy their first dental experiences is one of my main goals as a pediatric dentist. The most rewarding part of my profession is seeing children, especially those with special needs, accomplish something that may otherwise have been difficult, if not impossible, elsewhere. We have created a unique place where dentistry is fun and as fear-free as possible.

I grew up in Asheville, NC, and currently live in the eastern part of Cary with my wife, daughter, and dog. When not spending time with my family or watching the UNC Tar Heels, I've been an on/off professional cyclist for the past 15 years and will travel as often as possible out west to ski. Playing golf and fishing are some of my favorite activities as well.
Travis Hicks, DDS, MS
As a pediatric dentist, I have the opportunity to make an early impact on a child's perception of the dentist and oral health. I am passionate about giving children a dental home, a place where they and their parents can trust in the quality of care they recieve. I am excited every time I see a child for their first dental visit. It is an opportunity to develop a bond with that patient and their family that will hopefully last for many years to come. As one of the newest dentists in the practice, I look forward to working with not only a great group of pediatric dentists and orthodontists, but also an amazing staff in a thriving community like Raleigh.

I currently reside in Raleigh, NC, with my lovely wife, Courtney, and our little Maltese, Lexie, who keeps us very busy. When I have free time I can be found on the golf course, attending Wake Forest football and basketball games, and spending as much time at the beach as possible.
